ABOUT

Madeleine Webster is a visual artist who reimagines classic fairytales through her own life experiences, especially her school years. Working with fine liners, pencils and posca markers, she creates detailed, playful yet eerie scenes that move between vibrant colour and stark monochrome, exploring themes of life, death in the realm of the fairytale. Her book project, inspired by an introduction to printmaking with her arts facilitator Nicky, reflects her interest in layered storytelling. Webster is currently an artist in residence at Artlife in Footscray Community Art Centre.
