With shifts reshaping the artistic landscape, we pave the way for greater choice.

Jump Left is a contemporary gallery, project space and arts consultancy in Naarm/Melbourne, working with neurodivergent artists and artists with disability who are building professional careers in contemporary art.

We respond to a critical gap between supported studios and the independent art world, where the pathway to professional practice too often disappears. Working at this transition point, we partner with supported studios to elevate artists and the sector, providing the dedicated stewardship an artist's career requires — tailored mentoring, curated projects and paid opportunities, alongside trusted advocacy as they navigate professional contexts.

Our accountability is to the artist's practice, ensuring they enter the contemporary art world with the support, visibility, connection and professional standing they deserve.

  • According to Creative Australia, one in five Australians have a disability. For disabled artists, inclusive environments—both online and in-person—are essential for accessing resources, connecting with peers, and expressing their creative vision.

    Founded in 2024, Jump Left offers a niche approach to the arts and disability space. We collaborate with artists and partner organisations to promote inclusive arts practices through bespoke projects.

    Our purpose-for-profit model reinvests profits to empower artists, support innovative projects, and amplify disability advocacy.

    Our reach goes beyond local impact. We share our experiences with global audiences, peak bodies, and policymakers to drive societal change, making the arts more diverse, accessible, and welcoming.

    We believe in knowledge sharing and provide accessible resources for artists and art enthusiasts.

Founder

Sim Luttin is a Naarm, Melbourne arts professional with 25 years of experience as an artist, gallerist, curator, and arts leader.

Sim's dedication to the arts resonates through her creative work and professional practice. She tirelessly creates opportunities, promotes equity, and champions diverse artists nationally and globally through inclusive collaborations. As a curatorial co-founder of Art et al. and former senior curator and gallery manager at Arts Project Australia, Sim's experience has shaped her ambitions, leading her to establish a nimble and aspirational independent business at the intersection of art and disability.

  • Sim’s expertise is in creating meaningful cultural opportunities for neurodivergent, intellectually and learning-disabled artists.

    Her inclusive leadership style pushes local, national and global boundaries, linking artists with contemporary peers, galleries, institutions, partners, funders and the public. She travels extensively to connect with artists, studios, collectors and curators and highly values the lasting relationships she has formed.

    Sim has studied and worked in Australia, the USA and the UK. In 2024, she completed a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business at RMIT University, Melbourne. She is a 2023 Creative Australia Arts Leadership Program alumni and a curatorial co-founder of Art et al., an inclusive arts platform that elevates diverse voices and creative practices. She was a board member of the Public Galleries Association of Victoria, a curator and gallery manager at Arts Project Australia, a board member of Craft Victoria, an advisory member of Decentring Australian Art at the University of Melbourne, and a committee member of the Australian Supported Studio Network.

    Sim is a practising artist who explores conceptual time-based projects that respond to everyday moments to create elevated and conceptual bodies of work. She has exhibited worldwide, most recently in Melbourne Now at the NGV. Her work is in global collections, with former representation by Charon Kransen, New York, Pieces of Eight, and Studio Ingot, Melbourne.

“As founder of Jump Left and curatorial founder of Art et al. with UK colleagues, I help expand the boundaries of contemporary art nationally and globally. I also played a key role in solidifying Arts Project Australia (APA) as a global leader in advocating for artists with intellectual disabilities. As senior curator and gallery manager, highlights included securing APA's inaugural Creative Victoria four-year funding and establishing its external Collingwood Yards gallery. Founding Jump Left was a natural extension of these experiences."

Auslan Interpreter

We are thrilled to work with Jennie Kadiki.

Jennie is an Australian Deaf interpreter with a strong background in interpreting and translating for deaf immigrants whose second language is Auslan and those with intellectual disability, language deprivation, and a broad range of Deaf audiences. Jennie holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Social Science. Jennie brings a wealth of knowledge and cultural understanding to her interpreting work. Currently a Certified Provisional Interpreter in Australia in either face-to-face or video relay interpreter. Jennie is passionate about bridging communication gaps and enhancing accessibility for Deaf communities across the arts sector. 

  • Work highlights include: Auslan Left Stage as a Deaf consultant, incorporating sign language, providing and working with sign language interpreters, and providing Deaf Awareness Training for arts companies or staff; Arts Access Victoria as an Auslan teacher; Auslan Storybook website as a translator/storyteller; Cheltenham/other libraries as Auslan interpreter; and Fantastic Mr Fox by Encore Theatre Company as Auslan interpreter.
