Regional Artists Take Centre Stage in Melbourne 'Convergence' Exhibition

JULY 2025

MEDIA RELEASE

On Saturday 26 July 2025, 2-4pm, Jump Left launches CONVERGENCE, an exhibition showcasing diverse artists from Victorian and Albury regional supported studios, offering Melbourne audiences a rare glimpse into the vibrant creativity flourishing beyond our capital cities.

CONVERGENCE coincides with Open House Melbourne.

Jump Left is excited to announce CONVERGENCE, a group exhibition bringing together distinctive artistic voices from regional supported studios in Vitoria and Albury.

The exhibition challenges metropolitan-centric narratives by platforming creators whose geographical distance from cultural centres limits broader arts connections and opportunities.

"CONVERGENCE isn't just about presenting regional artwork—it's about elevating hidden talent and building bridges between diverse creative practice and broad audiences.

This exhibition celebrates creativity from the regions that's rarely seen in our capital cities and we're extremely grateful to the City of Melbourne for supporting this important and compelling project. Hopefully, this is just the beginning and something we can build on and expand in years to come."

—Sim Luttin, Jump Left Founder & Exhibition Curator

Featuring work by seven artists from five regional supported studios including Jessica Madden & Helen Butcher (Artgusto, Geelong), George Macaronis (Studio92, Colac), Stephen Hancock & Alex McKenzie (Artmania, Wangaratta), Housecat (Find Your Voice Collective, Warrnambool), and Stella Childs (The Art Factory, Albury).

This project is proudly supported by the City of Melbourne Arts Grants, the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, and venue partner Impact Neighbourhoods.

’Jump Left’ Inclusive Art Enterprise Launches Exclusively in Naarm, Melbourne

NOVEMBER 2024

MEDIA RELEASE

A new Australian arts enterprise launches in 2025, working with artists and organisations at the intersection of art and disability to achieve aspirational, collaborative and commercial projects.

Jump Left | Art.Co.Lab launches a profit-for-purpose arts enterprise at the iconic Donkey Wheel House in Naarm/Melbourne, a vibrant community hub for change-makers where innovative ideas and connections come to life, driving positive societal change.

The creative consultancy and project space collaborates with neurodivergent, learning, and intellectually disabled artists, along with studios, peers, organisations, and values-aligned partners, to achieve innovative artistic visions and advance broader cultural objectives.

This marks a major milestone for instituting more positive, inclusive, professional paradigm shifts in the arts and disability sectors.

“I am thrilled to launch Jump Left at Donkey Wheel House. As a grass-roots, socially-driven business we are committed to artistic development, partnerships and opportunities for Australian neurodivergent and disabled artists on a local, national, and international scale.

Opening its doors in 2025, Jump Left will be pivotal in driving new partnerships and advocacy initiatives, creating meaningful cultural exchange and more open and accessible artistic environments.”
