ABOUT
Born in 2003, Joshua Ivankovic is an emerging artist reconnecting with his creative practice. Working primarily in pencil and paint on paper, Ivankovic is expanding his artistic toolkit to include digital media, having recently acquired a drawing tablet to explore new possibilities in contemporary art-making.
Ivankovic's eclectic practice demonstrates a curiosity for diverse subject matter, ranging from wildlife studies of lions, dinosaurs, and crocodiles to traditional still-life compositions featuring fruit and botanical arrangements. His current work includes a still-life study, reflecting his interest in observational drawing and colour relationships. Working with pencil and pastel pencil on smooth-textured paper, he focuses on developing his technical skills in sketching, shading, and colour mixing.
As an early-career artist, Ivankovic is actively seeking to establish connections within the professional art community and expand his knowledge through gallery visits and engagement with established practitioners. His practice is characterised by a methodical approach to skill development, working at a dedicated studio space whilst exploring various themes to identify his artistic direction. Through consistent experimentation with both traditional and digital mediums, Ivankovic is building a foundation for a diverse and technically proficient artistic practice.
