George Macaronis’s Supergirl 1 has a sassy, confident gaze — and she almost seems to have an aura around her. Maybe this is the crystallisation stage of her metamorphosis? Looking at the leg on her left, I wonder… is she hiding something? A built-up shoe, perhaps? No matter—it’s never stopped Supergirl achieving what she wants. In Supergirl 2, she’s fully transformed. Her hair falls like a lion’s mane, ready to take on the world and conquer.

ARTWORK REFLECTIONS
About the Series

Writer and artist Pixie Albert offers intimate glimpses into seven works featured in CONVERGENCE through personal written responses.

Rather than traditional descriptions, these reflections capture the emotional resonance and individual experience of encountering each artwork. Albert's poetic observations invite audiences to see through fresh eyes, revealing hidden layers and unexpected connections within the exhibition.

These contemplative pieces can be read or listened to, adding a rich dimension to the visual experience, and demonstrating how art speaks differently to each of us.
